Coach Scott Turner

Former Head Coach

Sutter Union High School

Biography

Scott Turner has been the head football coach of the Sutter Huskies for the past 16 seasons. Since Coach Turner took over the program in 1988, the Huskies have compiled an overall record of 116-57-2 including 42 wins during their last 46 contests. Sutter has made the playoffs every season for the past ten years (which is when the Huskies started going to the Golden State Wing-T Camp) and have won two section titles and six league championships.

In 2004, the Huskies led the CIF Northern Section in three offensives categories; rushing yards (4,225 yards, 352 yards per game), total yards (4996 yards, 418 yards per game), and points scored. However, what Coach Turner is most proud of is the number student-athletes that are involved in the football program. With a school enrollment that has gone from 325 in 1988 to 750 in 2004, the Huskies have averaged 55 players at the varsity level, with the largest team of 72 players in 1999. The three levels (Frosh, J.V., and Varsity) average 125 players per year.

Coach Turner has been married to Florrie the past twenty-two years. They have four children; Amanda (23), Samantha (20), Micayla (17) and Dane (15)
